Thanks for your support!

We need sports shoes (football boots, runners/trainers) for boys and girls aged between 4 & 16.

The shoes will need to be:

  • Clean (machine washed if possible, and leather football boots as clean as you can get them)

  • In good condition

  • Securely fastened together by laces or cable ties (NB)

The children may also like to include a note with each pair of shoes to tell the kids in Cape Town a little bit about themselves and the sports they play - this was very much appreciated in the Townships in the 2019 campaign

We can accept anything from 1 to 100+ pairs

Getting the shoes to us:

Thanks to the fantastic support of Parcel Motel, once you have collected your shoes getting them to us is easy.

Just follow these steps:

  1. Pack up your football boots or trainers in a bag or box

  2. Register for FREE here with Parcel Motel or if you already have an account, log in.

  3. Click on Return Parcel

  4. Go to “Return to a Retailer or use a prepaid label” and choose In My Shoes Appeal from the dropdown list

  5. Choose the locker size required, confirm the weight is under 10kgs  and press the Continue button. Don’t worry if you’re not sure of the size, you can choose a larger one at the machine.

  6. Download and print the label and attach it to the outside of your parcel.  If you do not have access to a printer you can key in the barcode number or scan it on your phone.

  7. Take your parcel to your local Parcel Motel, follow the on-screen instructions and scan the label’s bar code to open the locker. Alternatively you can key in the bar code number using the keypad.

  8. If you have a large amount of trainers you can repeat the steps above and use more than one locker. Alternatively, you can drop off your trainers at any Nightline depot located in Dublin (Finglas), Sligo, Galway, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Athlone.

Click here for a list of depot locations

  9. We’ll take it from there and ensure that your trainers get to their new home in South Africa.
