County Sligo National Schools:

Over 95% of the shoes for the first campaign came from Sligo national schools, and they are to lead the campaign again for 2020.

An email as already been sent in December to all national schools in the country informing them about the 2020 campaign. We will follow up again towards the end of January 2020.

Once schools confirm they are participating in the appeal, we will send them leaflets to send home to parents. We will also confirm the dates for the donations to take place in early February, and a date for our van to call to pick up shoes and donations.

Participating schools will be listed on this page as they confirm they are getting involved (towards the end of January). If your school is not listed you will need to contact them directly to see if they are participating.

What do parents need to do:

We are looking for used football boots and runners/trainers, ages 4 -16.

Shoes need to be:

  • Clean (machine washed if possible, and leather football boots as clean as you can get them)

  • In good condition

  • Securely fastened together by laces or cable ties (NB)

The children may also like to include a note with each pair of shoes to tell the kids in Cape Town a little bit about themselves and the sports they play - this was very much appreciated in the townships in the 2019 campaign.

Deadlines:

Participating schools will be accepting donations of shoes from Monday 3rd to Friday 8th February 2020.
